With an extensive background in administration/management and accounting for non-profits (including a 3000-member church), government, manufacturing, and retail organizations in Arizona and Texas, V.C. Williams has returned to her roots in Prescott, Arizona, using her writing skills to create works of fiction.  Focusing on everything from the late 19th Century to  the current day, her books and travel blogs appeal to a diverse audience of readers.  A practiced speaker, V.C. Williams has much to offer, such as her personal writing and publishing insights, her love of history, story research, world travel insights, and, of course, the story "behind the book."  She presented a talk about the real-life trailblazer who inspired her book, A New York Lady In Helldorado, and was a featured speaker at the local Wordsmith organization.

Biography

Welcome to Williams Farm Books! Those who live and work on farms prepare the soil, plant, irrigate, pull weeds, drive out pests, and after months of hard work, harvest a crop that not only meets needs but also enriches a community and beyond. Writing stories follows a similar path. Each word sown on the page is nurtured through revisions and dedication, eventually blossoming into a tale that resonates with you, the reader.

A native Arizonan, I come from a pioneer heritage where strong women stood shoulder to shoulder with their men in Texas and Arizona, handling challenges like killing a rattlesnake as effortlessly as baking a pie. Inspired by these women and many others I’ve encountered, I believe everyone has a story to tell. Whether writing historical fiction, cozy mysteries, or YA time travel, each story is a journey of discovery, proving that a woman’s intelligence, unwavering devotion, and determination are worth “far more than rubies.”

My work has garnered excellent reviews from Kirkus and the Historical Fiction Co., and was honored with an Honorable Mention at the Paris Book Festival. I was also a finalist in the 2023 American Writing Awards. My books have received attention in prominent publications such as True West and Western Writers Roundup magazines. I am a proud member of the Historical Novel Society, the Arizona Authors Association, the Western Writers of America, and the Arizona Territorial Society.

I love to travel and am fortunate to have visited much of this beautiful country and the world.  Visit my travel blog at https://wanderinwalkers.wordpress.com/
