My old friend Kip Boyd sent me several historical files about Caroline Westcott Romney.  He'd researched her as one of the founding members of his church in Durango and wrote up an excellent history of her unusual life. This information inspired me to write a historical fiction about this woman's time in Durango, Colorado, as the first publisher of a newspaper in the small mining town in 1880. I'm researching and writing, and I've found a story arc that I hope will appeal to lovers of historical fiction. I am grateful that Kip introduced her to me, and I hope I do her justice.  I'm just starting and don't yet have a proper title or book cover. But those will come. Stay tuned!
