Walking In Deep Sand
About
This beautiful, independent 1950s woman should have been content after they moved to Cambodia. Her husband, a handsome US Foreign Service Officer, adored her and gave her anything she wanted. Her two young sons were cared for by the household help so she could be free from domestic chores. After she learned to fly, she even convinced her husband to partner with her mysterious French flight instructor to buy a plane together. She didn’t care about the instructor’s possible criminal past. What did it matter to her? She was having fun doing just what she wanted to do. So what if her secret flirtation went too far? It was exciting, and she needed excitement. But something went wrong. Something horrible. She couldn’t pretend it didn’t mean anything. She couldn’t pretend it had nothing to do with her.
She got what she always dreamed of: freedom and adventure. But it didn’t turn out right. Her husband felt betrayed, and her children were afraid of her. What happened to her life? It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Like everything else, it was up to her to fix it.

Fascinating Storyline
I enjoyed reading your book. Your storyline is fascinating, with many twists and turns to keep the reader interested. The characters, especially the protagonist, are strong and memorable and the plot is realistic.
An amazing book from this first-time author. Character development is excellent with the characters coming alive. It is a story of far-away lands and a family's journey through them, with many exciting adventures. It is also a story of forbidden love with twists, turns, and torment as the consequences thereafter. Yet, it is a story of hope for those who will try to forgive and forget. I gave it five stars and earnestly hope to see more from this gifted new writer.
I enjoyed this book. Where ever the family travels, the author puts you in that place right with her characters. I also enjoyed the setting and learning about the Foreign Service. The family story kept me guessing. I enjoyed their character development and the ending. I look forward to more from V.C. Williams.
